processes to reforest

Process:

1. Increase awareness of, and educate, people at different levels on sustainable use of all types of energy;
2. Identify (in the sites where WWF works) potential zones suitable for reforestation activities (to provide fuelwood for cities);
3. Together with the State Departments involved (Environment, Forests and Tourism, Energy and Mines), develop a reforestation plan;
4. Train model farmers to establish and maintain tree nurseries;
5. Develop and implement a management plan for the reforestation schemes (ie. forests where reforestation activities take place);
6. Participate in regional, national and international events on reforestation for energy.

revegetation

Revegetation is the process of replanting and rebuilding the soil of disturbed land. This may be a natural process produced by plant colonization and succession, or an artificial (manmade), accelerated process designed to repair damage to a landscape due to wildfire, mining, flood, or other cause.
